Our Story
Every movement begins with a single step.
Men of Charity was founded on September 11, 2024, when four men gathered in the living room of founder Branden L. Brown. Earlier that year, Branden felt God speaking to him before leaving on a mission trip to Nicaragua. He didn’t have a name for the group or a detailed plan—only a clear impression on his heart and a willingness to be obedient to what God was calling him to do.
That first meeting began with prayer and food, followed by a discussion rooted in Proverbs 27:17: “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” Together, they explored what it truly means for men to challenge, strengthen, and support one another in their faith and daily lives.
What started as a small, humble gathering in a living room has grown into a ministry serving men not only in the Pensacola area but reaching beyond to impact lives around the world.
We believe that when men grow in character and faith, they become better husbands, fathers, friends, and leaders—and entire communities are transformed because of it.
Meet Our Founder
Branden L. Brown is the founder and president of Men of Charity. A retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer, marriage and family therapist, educator, author, and speaker, he is passionate about helping men grow as leaders, husbands, fathers, and followers of Christ. Through Men of Charity, Branden is committed to building a brotherhood of men who lead with integrity, serve their communities, and strengthen families through faith and fellowship.
